Daytona Toyota feature: Stylish new Avalon debuts

Last week at the New York International Auto Show, Toyota revealed the new look of the 2013 Avalon, a premium mid-size sedan with an updated exterior design. The Avalon will be available at Daytona Toyota later this year.

Toyota focused on the styling of the new Avalon, evolving from its predecessors in terms of exterior appeal. Edgy, with a flowing design, the new Avalon resembles a luxury vehicle and with a renovated interior, it may not be far from it.

Toyota Motors leads in JD Power Dependability study

With eight awards between the Toyota, Lexus and Scion models, Toyota Motors tops the list in the 2012 JD Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study.

“We are extremely pleased that not only did we win awards in eight of the 14 model segments, but that in two segments we finished one-two and made the podium in 12 segments overall”, said Jim Lentz, President and Chief Operating Officer Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. in a released statement.

Help your local nonprofit win a new Toyota!

Last week, Toyota announced the return of the “100 Cars for Good” program where Toyota will award 100 vehicles to 100 nonprofits over the course of 100 days. Winners will be selected through public voting on the Toyota Facebook page and applications for the program will open March 12 on the same site.

Toyota is revealing the newest iteration of the Land Cruiser today at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show. The North American debut will present the latest model in the Land Cruiser’s long history from a basic four-wheel-drive utility vehicle to a new and updated eight-passenger SUV.

Want to win a 2012 Camry? Shazam!

Watching the Super Bowl means you’ll see plenty of advertisements, but Toyota wants to give you and a friend a Camry for watching. Toyota has announced a new integrated marketing campaign where they’ve paired with the mobile application Shazam and want you to be part of the “Camry Effect.”

“The Camry Effect is one of the most ambitious social media campaigns we’ve ever implemented,” said Dave Nordstrom, vice president of digital marketing at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc. in a statement. “Partnering with Shazam allows us to increase awareness of this effort on the national stage and give one lucky winner the opportunity to positively affect a friend and start writing his or her own Camry story.”

“The Tacoma is getting better and better”

The 2012 Toyota Tacoma was awarded the top spot in the PickupTrucks.com and USAToday Midsize Pickup Truck Shootout, beating six other contestants.

The four judges were all in agreement of the 2012 Tacoma being the clear winner.

“The Tacoma is getting better and better,” the judges wrote according to an article on USAToday.com. “There’s a lot of truck here for the money.”

Car of the future comes today

Last week at the North American International Auto Show, Toyota showed off their future car concept - the NS4. Staying on the cutting edge of technology the NS4 is a plug-in hybrid, separate from the Prius family. While it won’t be available until 2015, the NS4 is the next step in Toyota’s progress.

“In this digital age, cars are becoming another spoke in the wheel of our electronic connectivity,” said Jim Lentz, TMS president and chief operating officer said in a released statement. “NS4 demonstrates Toyota’s take on the human connection to the car with technology that considers both emotional and rational relationships, person-to-car and car-to-society.”

All in the Family

Tuesday at the North American International Auto Show, Toyota unveiled the all-new Prius c, a five-door hatchback-styled subcompact with Hybrid Synergy Drive. The Prius c will be available at Daytona Toyota this spring.

The “c” stand for “city” with the newest Prius designed for an urban environment. The city fuel rating of 53 mpg offers the highest city mpg rating of any vehicle without a plug, according to Toyota. Joining the Prius line, the c completes the Prius Family which features the Prius Liftback, Prius v and Prius Plug-in Hybrid.

Now on sale at Daytona Toyota, the all-new 2012 Toyota Camry debuts with bold, sophisticated styling, a more spacious interior, improved driving dynamics and class leading safety. The Toyota Camry has been America’s best-selling car for nine years running and 13 of the past 14 years.

The 2012 Camry is one of the first Toyota vehicles to offer the new Entune system, which leverages the user’s smartphone to provide access to navigation, entertainment and information services. Toyota Entune also brings the largest selection of music options available to the vehicle, including iHeartRadio and Pandora. Available HD Radio and SiriusXM Satellite RadioTM add to the music choices, while a USB port, iPod connectivity and Bluetooth® wireless connection are standard on all new Camry models.
