This week Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com will release their fifth annual “Best Family Cars of 2012″ list and three Toyota models were selected. If you’re looking for the right vehicle for your family, come in to Daytona Toyota today and see these models!
The vehicles were evaluated on attributes important to families including safety, fuel economy, ride comfort, styling and handling and kid-friendly features. The Toyota models selected were the Prius v in the high-mileage category, the Camry in the sedan category and the Sienna in the large vehicle category, according to Toyota.

Through April 2012 Toyota Motor Corporation in Japan announced hybrid vehicle sales totaled four million units worldwide. Toyota introduced the Prius in Japan in 1997 and now sells 18 hybrid passenger vehicles in 80 countries, according to Toyota.

This week at the Electric Vehicle Symposium in Los Angeles, Toyota revealed the all-new Toyota RAV4 EV. The newest all-electric vehicle from Toyota takes their most popular SUV model and gives it a charge. The new RAV4 EV has an expected driving range of 100 miles and an approximate charging time of six hours, according to Toyota. Not sacrificing driving performance or cargo capacity, the new RAV4 EV will be fully-equipped with an MSRP of $49,800.

Earlier this year, Consumer Reports released its 2012 Top Picks and despite the heightened competition, Toyota dominated the field earning five of the top ten spots. No other automaker has been selected for that many Top Picks since 2003 and Daytona Toyota has great deals on all the Top Picks right now!
“Every year the competition grows tighter; in recent years as many as nine different brands have taken the top spots. Combined with the improved Camry, Toyota’s ability to maintain a competitive lead among hybrids and SUVs is a big factor in its strong presence on this year’s list,” said Rik Paul, Consumer Reports’ automotive editor, in the Consumer Reports article.

Last week at the New York International Auto Show, Toyota revealed the new look of the 2013 Avalon, a premium mid-size sedan with an updated exterior design. The Avalon will be available at Daytona Toyota later this year.
Toyota focused on the styling of the new Avalon, evolving from its predecessors in terms of exterior appeal. Edgy, with a flowing design, the new Avalon resembles a luxury vehicle and with a renovated interior, it may not be far from it.
