Are you getting geared up for the big weekend? Looking for places to go celebrate and watch some fireworks. Here are some options in your neck of the woods (North and Central Florida) that are worth checking out.

Daytona Beach Main Street July 4th Block Party and Barbecue is an 8-block long July 4th block party with a summer barbecue theme. The event is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. until midnight with fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

St. Augustine’s Fourth of July Celebration - Take in the largest fireworks shows that burst above the ancient Castillo de San Marcos fort and reflect in the waters of Matanzas Bay. Come early to the 9:30 fireworks for the best vantage points located along the bayfront between the Castillo and the Bridge of Lions.

World Golf Village Fireworks (St. Augustine) - Bring blankets or lawn chairs and find a place around the Walk of Champions to enjoy the fireworks show at 9:30 on July 2, 2010. There is a small admission charge for parking.

Fourth of July Liberty Celebration (Jacksonville Beach) - Celebrate life, liberty and happiness with a beach blanket or lawn chairs and a picnic and watch a beautiful sunset before the fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

America Liberty Fest (Jacksonville Beach) - Music and fireworks highlight an afternoon and evening of celebration.
Beach Bash at the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Enjoy a full buffet, live entertainment, games and fireworks from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Reservations are required. Cost is $75 for adults and $35 for children. Call 904-277-1028 for reservations and more information.

Freedom, Fanfare & Fireworks (Downtown Jacksonville) - Bring the family and a picnic and watch the sun set over Metropolitan Park and fireworks light up the downtown sky at 9:45 p.m.

Silver Springs’ Independence Day Celebration (Silver Springs) - Uncle Sam will greet guests at the front gate. Second Helping, the Premiere Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Act will take the stage at 3:00 p.m.; Sticky Fingers, the leading international Rolling Stones tribute show is scheduled to perform at 5:00 p.m.; and, Lee Greenwood will perform at 7:00 p.m. The performances are the highlight of a day-long Independence Day Celebration topped off with a dazzling fireworks spectacular. July 4th park hours are 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration (Downtown Mount Dora) - Bring the kids and enjoy a parade, Kid’s Fest, entertainment, food, games and fireworks! For more information call 352-383-2165.

Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens celebrates the 4th with “Red, White & Zoo!” on July 3 & 4 with live music, games, food, children’s crafts, zoo animal encounters and more. 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Free with regular paid zoo admission.

Star Spangled Sanford on the Riverwalk held at Sanford’s RiverWalk and Fort Mellon Park is a great family-friendly event for all ages. Bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy live music, the Kids’ Zone and more. Just after sundown (approximately 9:15 p.m.) watch a spectacular fireworks display.

Old-Fashioned July 4th Celebration (Kissimmee) - Enjoy a spectacular, patriotic celebration and fireworks at the Kissimmee Lakefront Memorial Park and South Park with plenty of live entertainment, food, kids’ activities and more! Festivities begin at 3:00 p.m., with fireworks at 9:00 p.m. Admission is free!

SeaWorld Orlando - Park hours July 3 & 4, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Enjoy the special rockin’ AfterDark evening adventures… including spectacular fireworks!

Disney’s Animal Kingdom (Disney World Resort) - Park hours for July 3 & 4 will be 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. - The Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. daily, with no other special events announced.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios (formerly Disney-MGM Studios in Disney World Resort) - Park hours for July 3 are 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and July 4 are 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Special fireworks will be presented on July 4.

Epcot (Disney World Resort) - Park hours July 3 will be 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Future World and 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the World Showcase; July 4 will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in Future World and 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in the World Showcase. When evening comes enjoy an even more dynamic “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” which features dazzling special effects, colorful lasers, brilliant fireworks and fiery torches — all choreographed to a musical score.

Magic Kingdom (Disney World Resort) - Park hours July 3 & 4 are 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Top off your Independence Day evening with “Main Street Electrical Parade” and fireworks presented both evenings.
